Four Stages

From Creche to Key Stage Two.

3 months - 1 year

01 · Creche

A safe, nurturing environment for infants, supporting early growth while parents attend to daily responsibilities. Child-friendly facilities, trained caregivers and strict hygiene practices ensure comfort, health and security with regular updates so parents stay connected to their child's progress and activities.

Ages 1 – 5 · Preparatory - Kindergarten

02 · Early Years Foundation Stage

Rooted in Montessori principles, our EYFS programme gives children a balanced start encouraging exploration, creativity and independence while building literacy, numeracy, communication and social skills. Academics, play and values are blended with close parent-teacher collaboration, laying a strong foundation for lifelong learning.

Ages 5 – 7 · Year 1 - 2

03 · Key Stage One

KS1 builds on the Early Years Foundation Stage, developing core skills in literacy, numeracy and science while introducing history, geography, art and physical education. The stage strengthens reading, writing and mathematics, encourages curiosity, and supports social growth with end-of-stage assessments guiding a smooth transition into Key Stage Two.

Ages 7 – 11 · Year 3 – 6

04 · Key Stage Two

KS2 builds on KS1 and prepares pupils for secondary school. Core subjects (English, Mathematics and Science) combine with history, art, technology, music, PHE, computing and religious education. Pupils take SATs at the end of Year 6, tracking progress and readiness for the next stage.

The Nursery School

The Montessori method, in practice.

Dandave School's nursery section operates the Montessori method, which supports pupils' learning process across all curriculum areas. The activities and environment aid physical development, emotional growth and cognitive preparation allowing children to sort out their experiences and master their skills at their own pace.

The Primary School

A rich, internationally-aligned curriculum.

The primary curriculum is a rich blend of the Nigerian and other international curricula, carefully aligned with the International Primary Curriculum (IPC). It has a wide scope including subjects not presently in the standard Nigerian curriculum with identified learning outcomes at each stage, contemporary teaching methodologies, and quality textbooks and resources.

In the Nursery

Reading, writing and homework, from the start.

Our first priority in the nursery is a friendly, relaxed atmosphere combined with a sense of order and security. Once children feel "at home" in the classroom and understand acceptable behaviour, the purpose of acquiring necessary skills and concepts can begin.

By the end of their two-year period in the nursery, many children will have already learned to read, recognising and spelling common words, reading them in sentences, and using books for enjoyment. Children are given age- and time-appropriate homework, and we ask parents to supervise it and follow up on performance.

Beyond the Classroom

Extracurricular activities.

In our commitment to the total development of the child, Dandave School offers a wide range of extra and co-curricular activities aimed at educating beyond the four walls of the classroom with clubs and societies that organise excursions and educational visits to relevant industries.
